About the NSW Rural Doctors Network:
The NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) is a not-for-profit and non-government organisation, and is designated by the Australian Government as the Rural Workforce Agency (RWA) (for health) in New South Wales (NSW).
RDN aims to ensure that the highest possible standard of healthcare is provided to rural and remote communities through the provision of a highly skilled and continuing medical and health workforce in remote and rural NSW.
The Role:
The NSW Rural Doctors Network (NSWRDN) is currently seeking a highly experience Project Officer who is responsible for the ongoing support, evaluation and reporting of student related initiatives, projects and programs. The role reports into the Senior Manager – Education & Training who will manage RDN’s student-related initiatives including the NSW Rural Resident Medical Officer Cadetship Program, Bush Bursary/CWA Scholarship, John Flynn Placement Program, National Rural Health Student Network and NSW Undergraduate Grants Program. The PO’s role will include supporting programs and objectives, monitoring and reporting and other processes or projects to support the Education and Training team and RDN initiatives.
Education & Training
- Experience in project/program management (within healthcare sector would be advantageous, but experience from other sectors also considered)
- Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in an appropriate field (public health, Aboriginal health, eye health or project management)
- Coordinating rural placements for medical students.
- Liaising with key stakeholders ie. Councils, Universities, GP practices and rural communities
- Fulfil relevant reporting requirements and provide analysis and evaluations for programs and projects and undergraduate activities
- Provide administrative support as required by the Education and Training team.
- Develop and maintain productive, professional relationships with key stakeholders across the medical education and training sectors
- Maintain and improve the scholarships database, improve and promote the student activities section of RDN website
- Promote and attend RDN student activities in a range of forums as required. Possible out of hours involvement required.
Research and Evaluation
- Provide input, including analysis and interpretation, and assist with the evaluation of RDN’s education and training programs and activities including undergraduate activities, sponsored scholarships and RDN student’s website
- Assist with other research and evaluation if required in association with the Senior Manager, Education and Training.
